Southern Maryland Spay and Neuter, Inc is a non profit organization dedicated to ending the euthanasia of all healthy companions through low cost spay and neuter. We operate the Stop Pet Overpopulation Thrift shop (SPOT). We use the profits made through the sale of donated items to fund low cost spay and neuters.
Doberman Rescue Inc. (D.R.I.) is a nonprofit, charitable organization whose primary goal is to rescue abused, abandoned and unwanted Dobermans and place them in suitable, safe, and loving homes.

At what age should I start having my pet groomed? Your pets' first grooming experience should be right from the start at home with you. I can't stress enough how important it is to start brushing a dog or cat at an early age. It gives them the basics of grooming and being handled. Then I usually recommend getting them done professionally by 4 months of age. Back to Top
What do your grooming prices include? For dogs prices include: Hair cut, Bath, Blowdry, nail trim, and ear cleaning.
For cats: Nail trim, ear cleaning, and hair cut (Bathing cats is an extra $5).
Flea treatment and shampoo is extra.

Can I bring a medicated or prescription shampoo? Absolutely! I do not charge extra for bringing prescription shampoos. Back to Top
Where will my dog be kept for overnight boarding? The dogs that stay here have me trained well... They are able to come and go inside and outside throughout the day in our completely enclosed dog yard. At night they are kept indoors in our doggie room. We do crate the dogs at feeding time to prevent any food aggression problems from occuring, and to assure that everyone is getting the right food/ and or medication. Back to Top
Do you charge for medication? I do not charge extra for medications given during boarding. If the dog needs med's then they get them, as long as they are prescribed by a licensed veterinarian. Back to Top
Do you petsit/board for diabetic animals? Yes, I am able to petsit or board for diabetic animals. I have several animals under my care that get insulin injections. Back to Top
Do you encourage Owner participation? We encourage owner participation as part of the "whole" grooming process. Just ten minutes a day will not only help keep your pet's coat in optimal condition, but also serve as a wonderful bonding activity and enable you to detect health issues and presence of parasites before they become a problem. We will be happy to guide you as to brush and comb selection for your particular breed of dog and help you to get on a grooming schedule and maintence plan that keep your pet's coat in great shape, which will benefit you both.

What is an Express Groom? The express service is grooming on a tight time schedule, and is usually beneficial to animals with severe separation anxiety issues. Express service usually takes approx. 2 hrs and the owner is allowed to stay with the animal. An extra fee of $10 is added to the grooming charge for express services. Back to Top
